Truck Driver - CC - Weatherford, OK

Position Summary
TruckDrivers will ensure all loading/unloading of equipment is done in a safe mannerand secured properly. They will be required to ensure proper permitting is inplace per DOT regulations. Truck Drivers must maintain accurate logs relatingto daily duties and assigned vehicle(s).
PrincipalResponsibilities and Duties
Drive trucks with capacities of and/or greater than13 tons, including tractor-trailer combinations, to transport and deliverequipment and other materials.
Check trucks to ensure that all mechanical, safetyand emergency equipment is in good working order.
Follow appropriate safety procedures fortransporting equipment and potential dangerous goods.
Ensure pre- and post-trip inspections are done andmaintain accurate logs or truck services and repairs along with their statuswhen needed.
Ensure permits are being obtained prior to deliveryof equipment that meets the requirements by state/federal DOT regulations andensure pilot cars are available when needed.
Pre-plan each trip, which includes, but is notlimited to: researching weather conditions, route checks, and mapping outconstruction areas.
Maintain accurate logs of working hours followingapplicable state and federal regulations.
Secure cargo for transport using ropes, blocks,chain, binders or covers.
Check all load-related documentation to ensure itis accurate and complete and obtain receipts for delivered or receivedequipment.
Maneuver trucks into loading or unloadingpositions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle andloading equipment are properly positioned
Report vehicle defects, accidents, trafficviolations or damage to truck.
Otherrelated duties as required.
High schooldiploma or GDE is preferred, but not required
2+ yearsequivalent work experience in related field
Prior OTR (Over theRoad) experience in the oilfield or in hot shot services
Basicmathematical skills
Demonstrate basiccomputer knowledge through effective use of a company computer (whenapplicable) including Microsoft Office applications
Know how tooperate GPS equipment to locate pick-up/delivery locations.
Read bills oflading to determine assignment details.
Know when/howpilot cars should be used.
Must beknowledgeable in the principles and methods for moving goods by road, includingthe relative costs and benefits
Must be able tooperate the following: lowboy trailers, cargo hoists, boom trucks, slidingfifth wheel trailer hitches, forklifts and man-lifts.
Must possess andmaintain Class A CDL and a clean driving record.
Ability to stand,stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
