Manufacturing Technical Leader

We are looking for an experienced Technical Leader - Engineering/Quality to join our growing Flexographic Packaging Division in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Position Summary:
In this role, you will?report to the Plant Manager and?will be?responsible for providing leadership, developing, organizing, managing, and controlling all aspects of Weatherford plant technical department including Manufacturing, Safety, Quality, and Raw Materials. As business shifts from product families it is imperative that the plant focuses on continuous improvement and manufacturing excellence and this role will be pivotal in ensuring we accelerate our performance towards Best in Class to ensure longer term cost sustainability and search for additional opportunities as appropriate.

Primary Responsibilities to include:
  1. Product support
  2. Leadership of quality improvement and complaint reduction programs
  3. Involvement of the overall quality system consistent with ISO 9001:2000.
  4. Conformance to plant and corporate quality policies and procedures
  5. Decisions on quality issues
  6. Follow through on corrective action
  7. Establishing annual quality improvement and cost reduction goals
  8. Supervision of supplier engineering activities
  9. Administration of the decision making system for the testing and disposition of factory material
  10. Maintain the complaint analysis and reporting system
  11. Primary plant contact for new raw materials
  12. Primary plant contact for establishment of quality assurance system for new products or product revisions, including new or revised raw or semi-finished materials

Required Skills/Experience:
  1. The continued growth of Kodak?s Packaging business in Weatherford requires a dedicated and proven leader able to work closely with all business functions.
  2. Bachelors Degree in technical/business field or Equivalent Work Experience
  3. Minimum of 7 years proven direct experience in a manufacturing environment, with 5 years of Production, Manufacturing, Plant, Operations experience.
  4. High energy level required
  5. Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem solving skills are essential.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
  1. Direction of product and plant operations and employee relations requires significant manufacturing knowledge as well as advanced interpersonal and supervisory skills.
  2. Strong Leadership and experience in managing direct reports
  3. Good Microsoft Office skills ? in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Effective presentation skills
  4. Practitioner of continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen

Essential Duties include the following:
?
  • Plan, organize and direct the product support and engineering functions which ensure the most effective return for quality and yield performance.
  • Assure attainment of business objectives and productions schedules while insuring product standards that will exceed our customers? expectations. Support manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports Kodak?s strategic initiatives.
  • Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction, both on a permanent and ad-hoc basis, depending on need.
  • Encourage use of new techniques and focus on fact based problem solving.
  • Manage spending against budget and in relation to changes in production volume.
  • Work to establish management practices throughout all plant areas which include all employees? positive involvement with opportunity for constructive input and action.
  • Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes.
  • Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas. Maintain individual skills to keep up to date with latest production and engineering management concepts.

Financial Responsibility:
  • Responsible for budget setting and control for the Engineering department and support for the overall plant objectives.

Complexity:
  • This position interacts with all plant functions; a firm understanding of Quality, Human Resources, and Corporate groups such as Procurement, Supply & Planning, New Product Introduction & EOL, R&D and Continuous Improvement. This role must have an understanding of how the business is run in regards to plant objectives and general regulatory guidelines.

Key Outputs:
  1. Displays a high level of leadership and ability to influence key stakeholders.
  2. Establishes and effectively manages departmental budgets and objectives.
  3. Assists in the development of personal business objectives and performance standards for all employees in the department.
  4. Ensures proper people, processes, and procedures are in place and working to ensure good customer service with minimal out of stocks.
  5. Maintains approved processes and procedures, and oversees the timely and cost effective implementation of all new product introductions, package changes, special projects, line extensions, etc.
  6. Carries out all management responsibilities in accordance with Kodak policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees
  7. Addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
  8. Responsible for departmental programs such as Employee Safety and Environmental Compliance.
  9. Performs other duties as required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
