Designs, develops, implements and oversees the organization's health and safety programs, policies and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities and to ensure that all facilities are in compliance with government safety regulations.

Inspects or evaluates workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with health and safety standards and government regulations.

Investigates routine to unconventional accidents to determine the root cause, circumstances, contributing factors and corrective actions. Develops recommendations and follow-up procedures to prevent accident recurrence.

Investigates routine to unconventional health-related complaints and inspect facilities to ensure that they comply with public health legislation and regulations.

Conducts health and safety audits to assess field operations, buildings, facilities, tools and equipment.

Determines safety training requirements and provides employees with safety training applicable to their work processes.

Collaborates with engineers, recommending measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, materials, or potentially hazardous conditions or equipment.

Assists field operations in health and safety program implementation and guidance.

Analyzes and develops safety statistical data as requested by field operations.

Orders suspension of activities that pose threats to workers' health or safety.

Collects samples of dust, gases, vapors, or other potentially toxic materials for analysis.

Promotes safety-conscious work performance and provides safety performance measures and training programs.

Maintains comprehensive knowledge of government safety regulations.

Works directly with government agencies and trade organizations to provide technical expertise in matters pertaining to Health and Safety policy, regulations and practices.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:

Strong knowledge of applicable health and safety theories and concepts and a working understanding of the operating procedures and practices, as well as, regulations of federal and state requirements.

Strong knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.

Strong knowledge of EHS laws, regulations, and standards (CCA,CWA,RCRA, CERCLA, OSHA, ESA, NEPA, NIOSH standards, API standards, et.)

Strong knowledge of Industrial Hygiene practices and sampling methods.

Ability to perform inspections, investigations, and/or auditing of health and safety programs at corporate and field operations level.

Must have valid State issued driver's license and be able to travel, including overnight travel, work evenings and weekends as required.
Education & Experience Required:
Bachelors Degree in Health & Safety or related field
2 to 4 years related work experienceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
