As the Director of Cannabis Cultivation, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our cannabis cultivation operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maximizing productivity and quality.
Responsibilities:
Cultivation Strategy and Planning:
Develop and implement cultivation strategies, including cultivation techniques, genetics selection, and nutrient regimens, to optimize yield, quality, and efficiency.
Collaborate with other departments to align cultivation goals with overall business objectives.
Conduct research and stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continually improve cultivation processes.
Operational Management:
Oversee day-to-day cultivation operations, including planting, transplanting, irrigation, pruning, pest control, and harvesting.
Manage cultivation schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks and adherence to production targets.
Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cultivation activities to maintain consistency and quality.
Monitor and adjust environmental conditions, such as temperature, humidity, and lighting, to create an optimal growing environment.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including record-keeping, reporting, and product tracking using METRC.
METRC and Growflow Expertise:
Possess expert-level knowledge of METRC, the state-mandated cannabis tracking system.
Manage METRC tasks, including seed-to-sale tracking, inventory management, compliance reporting, and license renewal.
Utilize Growflow, a cannabis cultivation management software, to streamline workflows, track strains, manage inventory, and allocate resources effectively.
Team Leadership and Development:
Build and lead a high-performing cultivation team, providing guidance, training, and mentorship.
Establish performance metrics and regularly evaluate team members' performance, providing feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes productivity, professionalism, and safety.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to cannabis cultivation.
Implement and maintain robust safety protocols and procedures, including integrated pest management (IPM), to protect employees, crops, and the environment.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in horticulture, agriculture, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience as a Director of Cannabis Cultivation or similar role.
In-depth knowledge of METRC and experience with seed-to-sale tracking, compliance reporting, and inventory management.
Proficiency in using Growflow or other cannabis cultivation management software.
Strong understanding of cultivation techniques, genetics selection, and nutrient regimens.
Familiarity with local, state, and federal cannabis regulations and licensing requirements.
